Name a Reeve

We've got a short list of names that we like, but are not sure which one to pick. I am curious to know what the general populous thinks. So please feel free to vote! If you have any comments you are more than welcome to leave them here.

Now for some background on the names, and perhaps some insight on why we can't decide and what the heck we are thinking.

Josie Adelle Reeve
Josie is a great-great-grandmother of mine. My uncle loves to do genealogy work and he passes on names to my mom. My mom liked the name and suggested it to us. Nate really liked it from the first. We are trying to find out more about her. If it turns out she was a bootlegger, I might feel differently about the name, but I am banking on the fact that she was probably a great lady. I have always loved the name Adelle so I would like to use it somehow. This name is probably on the top of the list at the moment.

Anika Starr Reeve
Frankly, I just like the name Anika. It's a little different while still being a "real" name. Starr is a family last name on the Reeve side.

Macy Starr Reeve
Macy would be a fun name because she will be born in May (all things going according to plan). I think it's cute and a little different.

Liberty Grace Reeve
This has a long story to it, which I actually don't want to completely delve into, because I actually don't remember all the details. I think that is a little bit "out there", but not too far out. We would call her Libby. Grace is a family name. But then we found out that celebrity, Joey Lawrence, named his daughter..."Liberty Grace". I felt shocked and betrayed! For crying out loud----WE made it up! Well, it lost some of it's charm, but I haven't quite let it go.

I'm not opposed to mixing it up a little bit, to Josie Starr Reeve, or Macy Adelle Reeve, etc.

So what do you think?

Hehe~ I love the disclaimer, first of all, as far as the name goes I like the first one the best, but it was a tough choice! Good luck with deciding!

First a question. How do you pronounce Anika? Is it Uh-NEE-kuh, or ANN-ee-kuh, or ann-ih-kuh? I keep thinking Anakin Skywalker, I think a pronunciation hint would help me.

I personally love Josie Adelle. But the others are lovely as well.

1. bootlegger or not Repentance is possible and I know a sweet former bootlegger (family line) who's since had her work done and is Very busy doing Good Works Now. Don't let the past be your present.
2.I like them all. Are you willing to live w/ Libby as a nickname? I wouldn't mind it.

LOL! Very true about repentance. :) Well good. I do really like the name Josie.

I love the name Josie! I think it's a keeper, but if you do decide to ditch them all and choose another, let me suggest Hazel. I think you would have the cutest little Hazel Starr Reeve ever!

Oh and don't forget to look at initials. Josie Adelle Reeve spells jar. Which isn't bad, just make sure you notice!

I like them all, but I voted for Josie Adelle because it's my favorite. (And I can call her "Jar Jar." No, I'm just kidding! :) Dad is threatening to call her "Josie and the Pussycats" though...) I also think that "Josie Grace Reeve" or "Anika Grace Reeve" would be very cute.

I love the name Macy! However, I think that Josie is cute as well and sounds nice with Eleanor and William. Whatever her name, I am excited to see the little thing in a few months!

How about Adelle Starr. I love the idea of Starr as a middle name. What little girl wouldn't love to have that? I like it so much that I will probably steal the idea from you. Just keep in mind that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Anyway.. Adelle Starr, think about it.

Meridy, I love all of those names! I especially love Starr. I also love how each little one sort of grows into their name no matter what it is. (And, we are planning to name our baby boy Rome, and I felt some betrayal that a celebrity soccer player just named his son Rome too. Haha!)

How about Super Starr?

I'm with the first pick, Josie Adelle. It's a beautiful name. Choosing is hard isn't it?!?! Good luck!

I like Josie Adelle. Her initials will be JAR though if that matters. Having Starr in there instead would be cool though too. I love the disclaimer and know that it doesn't really matter what we say cuz you'll do what you want anyway. :) Good luck choosing!
